A brief history of Williams Broadcasting, Inc.

Williams Broadcasting is a company that specializes in the development of short-format programming for radio and television with applications to the web. The company was formed by John and Wendy Williams in 1990.

Originally operating as a Ski Report service with the North Country Ski & Board Reports, Williams Broadcasting has expanded it’s operation to  include multiple programming venues, which include The Racing News Network; The North Country Snowmobile Trail & Activities Report; Destinations, Where to Go and What to Do; The Sport Short; and By The Numbers Financial Stock Report.

The company supplies these programs to over 50 radio stations and networks across Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts, well as WCSH TV 6 Portland, WLBZ TV 2 Bangor and Fox 23 TV out of Portland.

Maine natives, John is a graduate of Edward Little High School and the University of Maine, with graduate studies at Bangor Theological Seminary. Williams has nearly 30 years of experience in the broadcast industry, including sales, management and programming in Maine, New York and Tennessee.

The Williams are active community leaders, including corporators at Norway Savings Bank and Stephens Memorial Hospital. John is an ordained minister and has functioned as the Chief Executive Officer for the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce. It is this unique combination of experiences in business and the community that gives Williams Broadcasting a sense for impeccable customer service, its creative and successful advertising and promotional vision for businesses throughout New England.

The Williams reside in North Norway on Wrightstone Manor Farm where they raise sheep along with Bella a Bernese Mountain dog and seven cats!  Spare time is spent in the garden, fly fishing, bicycling the back roads of North Norway, skiing and enjoying time with their grandson’s Tyler and Morgan, and spending time with family!
