Around The Track for 7/23/15

How about a little dirt track just his third career start in the Camping World Truck Series, Christopher Bell outlasted dirt ace Bobby Pierce in a green-white-checekered finish to win the 3rd Annual  1-800-car cash mud summer classic from the famed Eldora Speedway dirt Thursday night with series regulars Tyler Reddick & EWrik Jones finishing 3rd & 4th.

And my quick thumbnail profile this week  is Jules Bianchi, the young French formula 1 driver who succumbed to head injuries this past week  suffered in a head on crash at the Japanese Grand Prix last October, underlying once again the risks that drivers take in a sport that can end careers and lives without warning!

Bianchi, extremely talented & under the tutaledge of Ferrari, was earmarked for Kimi Raikkonen’s seat upon his retirement but tragically never got that chance but did show flashes of brilliance while driving for Marussia, a 2nd tier team, scoring that team’s first points ever in the Monaco Grand Prix in 2014..
