Today’s Report

Here in the western foothills of Maine I could hear the sounds of sleds all weekend…a good sign despite marginal ground cover virtually anywhere you ride.. but the ground has frozen up solid and that’ helping maintain current trail surfaces..

Reports have been coming in from areas around Katahdin and Shin Pond, Bowlin & Matagammon where the clubs are reporting good riding on the Its trails in those areas..all Its trails in and around Jackman are also open..the same in the Forks where Jim Yearwood especially recommends the Bald Mt Trail on 86 & 87 south..and all trails in the Rangeley lakes region are open but the lake itself is not safe..

And in the granite state, very good trail conditions exist in Pittsburg, Diamond Pond/Coleman Sate Park, & trails in Colebrook & Errol are groomed with moderate conditions while you can find some good riding in the higher elevations around Stratford…
