In the closest finish in Daytona 500 history, Denny Hamlin pushed his No. 11 Fed Ex Toyota ahead of Martin Truex Jr. at the finish line by 10-hundreds of a second, a length of just 6 inches to win Nascar’s “super bowl” of racing, Hamlin’s first 500 victory, and it was Toyota’s first ever win in Nascar’s premier event and the first for Joe Gibbs racing in 23 years!

 

Hamlin’s teammates Kyle Busch & Carl Edwards finished 3rd & 5th with former 500 winner Kevin Harvick in 4th..!

 

In other results from Daytona, 500 pole winner Chase Elliott held off Joey Loganao on the final lap to win Saturday’s Xfinity Power Shares Triple Q 300..and Friday, Johnny Sauter drove his No. 21  GMS Racing Chevy to victory in the Camping World Truck Nextera Energy Resources 250 after a colossal wreck on lap 93 involving half the field knocked out some of the strongest competitors including Maine’s Austin Theriault, who led a race high 31 laps..
