“It’s “Around the Track” for Tuesday..and Mother nature certainly didn’t do the local tracks around New England any favors this season..for example, Communications Director Ken Minott from Wiscasset Raceway in Maine, related that with Saturday’s rainout of championship night, the last event of the year, they lost 8 dates, or one-third of their 24 race season! In any case congrats to Puncin St. Clair on his first Late Model Sportsman Championship!

Hopefully the weather will be better for this weekend’s Milk Bowl at Thunder Road in Barre, Vermont for the finale to the ACT season Series with $10,000 plus up for grabs in victory lane, along with the final point races for the local divisions at the quarter mile high banked oval, and for the $10,000 to win PASS 300 at Beechridge Motor Speedway, which was also victimized by rain last weekend!!

Turning to the Nextel Cup, Kansas is up next, a 1.5 mile tri-oval, slightly banked in the turns at 15 degrees with just enough banking on the front & backstretch to create speeds in the 180 mph range, quite a change from New Hampshire & Dover! Only five years of Cup history at Kansas with Jeff Gordon being the only  repeat winner, having won the first two events in 2001 & 2002!
