It’s points day! Gotta love Jeff Burton-the Childress racing star is all the way back & sitting in the sun-spot as the Chase for the Cup heads to Kansas! And if Jeff Gordon keeps nailing top three finishes, he won’t need to win another race to toast his 5^th Cup Championship! The hendrick star has closed to within six points of the lead!

Matt Kenseth & rookie Phenom Denny Hamlin are right there ust 18 ppoints off the pace with last week’s leader Kevin Harvick & Mark Martin 54 & 75 points back! After that it gets tough with Jr. facing a 102 point deficit in 7^th, followed by Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne & Kyle Busch, who is in a whopping 224 point hole!

Kevin harvick has a 700 point lead in the Busch Series-the only question now is can he come back & pull a double with a Cup title too! A quick stat for ya-29 Busch races, 27 won by Cup regulars!

Tod Bodine is nervous & he should be with Johnny Benson breathing down his neck in the Craftsman Truck series, just 91 points out! Benson now leads the series in wins with four!

Champions for 2006 at Wiscasset Raceway include Late Model-Puncin St. Clair, Super street-Adam Chadbourne, Strictly Streets-Dave Brannon, Stock Mini-Shawn Kimball, Teen Division-Tyler Tibbetts, Ladies Division-Marje Albert! Congratulations to all the winners and we'll be praying for a lot less rain in 2007!

Regional Racing

Mike Olsen & Mike Stefanik are still holding comfortable leads in the Busch East & Whelen Modified Series as the season begins to wind down.. Jean Paul Cyr, looking for record tying championship no. 6, has a 72 point edge heading into Sunday’s ACT season finale, the Milk Bowl at Thunder Road, and Johnny Clark is a combined 26 points up on Mike Rowe & Scott Chubuck in the PASS Tour & you know I’m gonna say it-what about Cassius Clark!

Open Wheel Racing

Finally, Michael Schumacher heads for the Grand prix of China poised to take the lead away from reigning champion Fernando Alonso-3 races remain in the Formula 1 series!

And with his win at lake Elkhart, American AJ Allmendinger staved off elimination and picked up five points on two time defending Champion Sebastian Bourdais. Allmendinger is the only drver who still has any chance of catching the Frenchman with two races left!
